The game
Realm of Ink is an Ink-style action Roguelite game. You, the heroine, unexpectedly discover that you are just a fictional character within the short story collection Realm of Ink when hunting the Fox. Only by defeating the mysterious Book Spirit can you be liberated from the realm.
Realm of Ink is a beautiful and fun roguelite that gets dragged down by serious performance problems. The gorgeous ink-wash art style is universally loved, and the core gameplay loop is tight and engaging, making it easy to recommend for genre fans. That said, a vocal group of players are hitting major technical issues, especially on consoles and PC, with complaints about crashes and poor optimization. While the story and difficulty curve are divisive, the real consensus is that it's a great game buried under some frustrating jank.
