The film
When the flamboyant Henry Paget arrives in 1890s North Wales to claim his aristocratic inheritance, his theatrical flair and defiant eccentricities send shockwaves through the upper-class elite, much to the amusement of the local townspeople. Alongside his spirited cousin, Lily, and loyal butler, Gelert, Henry tries to carve out his own identity as the Fifth Marquess, navigating suffocating traditions, scheming relatives, and the long shadow cast by his estranged father.
People are loving the spectacle of this one. It's about the flamboyant Henry Paget, played by Callum Scott Howells, arriving in 1890s Wales to shake up the aristocracy, and the sheer theatricality of it all is a major win. While the story itself, following Henry's fight for identity against scheming relatives, gets some shrugs for feeling familiar, the acting and visuals are praised without reservation. A vocal few had issues with director Celyn Jones's choices and Rupert Everett's butler, but most just found it a fabulous, good time.
