Man of War is a solid, no-frills action thriller, with most people digging its old-school, boots-on-the-ground intensity. They’re giving a lot of credit to director William Kaufman for delivering a tense, gritty look at the chaos of war, with the acting, visuals, and pacing all landing well. LaMonica Garrett carries the weight as the ex-SEAL Michael Connor, though reactions to his performance were split right down the middle.
