The Real Review

This is a sweet, well-acted crowd-pleaser, with Sally Field's performance as the lonely widow Tova being the clear highlight. The story of her forming unexpected bonds at an aquarium, including with a remarkably intelligent octopus voiced by Alfred Molina, is visually lovely and hits all the right emotional notes for most viewers. A few found the plot a bit predictable and wished it moved a little faster, but the overwhelming takeaway is that the heart and the performances, especially from Field and Lewis Pullman's Cameron, make it a winner.
