The film
Jack Ryan is reluctantly pulled back into espionage when an international covert mission unravels a deadly conspiracy. Racing against time, he joins CIA allies Mike November & James Greer and sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe to battle a rogue black-ops unit in a high-stakes, deeply personal fight.
This one's a rough watch that leaves most people pretty cold. The consensus is that the plot, about Jack Ryan being pulled back in to fight a rogue black-ops unit, is painfully unoriginal and poorly told, feeling like a checklist of generic spy-thriller moves. John Krasinski as Ryan gets a few nods, but the rest of the cast, like Wendell Pierce's James Greer and Michael Kelly's Mike November, doesn't land at all. It's a high-stakes mission that mostly just feels tired.
