9-1-1 Season 10 Trailer Shows LA Buried in Lava After a Sinkhole Erupts
The first trailer for 9-1-1 Season 10 promises fiery chaos. Los Angeles is transformed into 'La-Va Land' as a massive volcanic eruption follows a giant sinkhole, per TVLine.
Showrunner Tim Minear joked about the eerie timing of the plot. He noted a real-life sinkhole opened on Sunset Boulevard while they were prepping the story, blaming city infrastructure rather than his own influence.
Minear told TVLine the new season builds on groundwork laid last year. Angela Bassett's Athena is now a detective, Oliver Stark's Buck is adjusting to being a legal guardian, and other characters like May and Harry are pursuing new careers in medicine and firefighting, respectively.
The season premiere is set for Thursday, October 15 on ABC. It will be followed by new episodes of the spin-off 9-1-1: Nashville and the long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy.
The trailer arrives after a dramatic Season 9. Storylines included Athena's promotion, Hen's battle with an autoimmune disease, Buck gaining custody of his biological son after the parents' deaths, and Eddie being stabbed in the finale.
