Andrew Garfield leads a peasant revolt in first trailer for 'The Uprising'
Andrew Garfield is trading his Spider-Man suit for a sword. The first trailer for Focus Features' historical epic 'The Uprising' has arrived, and it looks like a medieval powder keg.
Garfield stars as Wat Tyler, the legendary leader of the Peasants' Revolt, who forms an army of farmers to fight the tyranny of King Richard II. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass, known for the 'Bourne' movies, suggesting plenty of gritty action.
Collider calls the film an epic 'Braveheart' replacement, while MovieWeb notes Garfield appears as a one-man army in the footage. The trailer promises a ferocious rebellion and a war burning across England.
'The Uprising' is set to bring a brutal slice of 14th-century history to the big screen with a modern action-thriller edge.
