Andy Serkis says new Gollum film won't do 'politically correct casting'
Andy Serkis is already wading into deep waters with his upcoming "Lord of the Rings" film, "The Hunt for Gollum." In a recent BBC interview, the director and star said the project will not engage in "politically correct casting-for-the-sake-of-casting," according to Variety.
His comments come as the announced cast, including Jamie Dornan and Anna Taylor-Joy, is reportedly made up entirely of white actors. Serkis did say the film would "somewhat acknowledge" the franchise's historical lack of diversity.
