Andy Serkis Slinks Back Into Gollum Role As 'The Hunt For Gollum' Starts Filming
Andy Serkis is already whispering sweet, murderous nothings in that iconic voice. Warner Bros. has dropped a new video marking the official start of production on the new Lord of the Rings film, and Serkis is fully back in character as the ring-obsessed creature.
JoBlo reports the actor-director appears in the video as production kicks off. The studio also released a first look at the footage, according to Polygon.
The film, titled 'The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum', is slated to hit theaters in 2027. Serkis is set to both direct and reprise his role in the spinoff.
