Anna Foglietta says making her directorial debut required real guts

Actor Anna Foglietta is premiering her first film as a director, 'A Common Story,' at the Venice Film Festival. Variety reports she previously served as the festival's official emcee in 2020.

The film stars Alba Rohrwacher. Foglietta described the experience of working with Rohrwacher, telling the outlet, 'You have to have the guts to show yourself exactly as you are.'

Foglietta is best known internationally for her role in the Italian box office hit 'Perfect Strangers.'

A trailer for the new drama has been released exclusively to Variety.
