Arc Raiders Halts Its Endgame Expeditions For A Major Revamp Until 2027
The post-launch grind for Arc Raiders is hitting the brakes. Developer Embark Studios announced a pause for all future Expeditions, the game's late-game prestige system, until early 2027, per IGN and PC Gamer. The upcoming fifth Expedition will be the last hurrah, running from September 8 through September 29.
According to an update posted by the studio, the hiatus is to implement "major improvements" based on player feedback. The developer stated some core problems require more than small tweaks, specifically mentioning short time windows to start an Expedition, how rewards are handled, and hurdles for newcomers trying to catch up.
The pause also affects weekly Trials, which will be suspended from September 22 to October 8. Embark assured players any consecutive buffs earned will remain active during the break, and partially completed Caravans will be converted into in-game vouchers.
Reaction from the player base is divided. IGN's report highlights comments ranging from cautious optimism to outright frustration. One player with hundreds of hours logged said they were "hoping for a huge October surprise, but not holding my breath." Others acknowledged the system needs work but are wary of the long wait for a fix.
This follows a rocky post-launch period for the extraction shooter, which launched in late 2025 to strong reviews but has faced criticism over sparse content updates. The next major update, Frozen Trail, is slated for October.
