Army Unit Offers 4-Day GTA 6 Pass For Soldier Re-Enlistment
The U.S. Army is getting creative with recruitment. A unit in Georgia is offering soldiers a four-day pass to play GTA 6 if they sign up for another tour.
According to CBS News, the offer is specifically for soldiers stationed at Fort Stewart's 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion. An Army spokesperson told the outlet 20 soldiers have already accepted the deal.
Per CBS, the idea is to give troops a long weekend off around the game's launch in November as a reward for re-enlisting. The spokesperson said the goal was to motivate soldiers while offering a modern, relevant incentive.
The incentive follows a separate report, by GameSpot, citing research firm Sensor Tower, claiming GTA 6 has already pulled in over $400 million from preorders. That unconfirmed data suggests the game has sold roughly 4.38 million copies.
The Army's offer highlights the immense cultural draw of Rockstar's next title, a pull strong enough to become a military bargaining chip.
