Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake Bombed on Steam for Microtransactions
The newly released remake of 'Assassin's Creed Black Flag,' titled 'Resynced,' is catching major heat from players on Steam. Per Eurogamer, users are review-bombing the game over the inclusion of single-player microtransactions, a move that has clearly rubbed the fanbase the wrong way.
Despite the backlash, the remake reportedly had a strong financial start for publisher Ubisoft. According to the report, it was on track to outperform 'Assassin's Creed Shadows' and had already pulled in roughly $14 million in gross revenue before it even officially launched.
It seems Ubisoft's coffers are happy, but its players are definitely not. The clash between a profitable launch and angry fans is the latest drama in the live-service gaming world.
