Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced devs strike as layoffs hit despite game's success
Ubisoft Barcelona, a studio that co-developed the hit Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, is facing major layoffs and a worker strike. Eurogamer reports that the studio has gone on a three-day strike to protest the elimination of up to 51 jobs.
IGN notes that striking staff have slammed the company's initial severance pay offer, calling it "below any reasonable standard" as they fight for fair compensation.
The labor action comes despite the game's massive commercial success. According to Eurogamer, the title sold 2 million copies on launch day alone and enjoyed the best launch for any Assassin's Creed game on Steam.
