Avengers and Dune 3 presales signal huge holiday box office battle

Meanwhile, tickets for the Imax 70mm showings of 'Dune 3', Denis Villeneuve's finale to the sci-fi epic, are reportedly selling fast. The outlet says the dual blockbuster releases have already set the stage for a historic box office weekend.

It looks like audiences will have to choose between sandworms and superheroes, and theater chains are set to cash in either way.
