Avengers Endgame: Encore Adds New Scenes Setting Up Doomsday
Marvel Studios has re-released Avengers: Endgame in theaters as Avengers Endgame: Encore, featuring new footage that sets up the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, per /Film.
In the extended ending, Loki, wearing his TVA gear from his Disney+ series, appears at the door of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter moments after their dance. He tells them he can help "both" of them, confirming Steve's presence. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have stated this moment is where Doomsday is born, directly linking the films.
A mid-credits scene shows Bruce Banner in an underground bunker, monitoring himself after his public Hulk-out in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He is visited by Doctor Doom, whose voice is heard before the Hulk emerges. The scene ends with a glowing green marker left in Banner's lab, suggesting Doom has taken him.
A third scene, reported by Variety but not confirmed by /Film, allegedly shows the Time Variance Authority witnessing multiple Earths colliding in incursions, signaling a multiversal collapse.
The re-release and its new scenes firmly establish Doomsday as a direct sequel to Endgame. The Russo Brothers, who are returning to direct both Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, have called Endgame: Encore the one required viewing before the 2026 film.
