Backrooms: Savior Game Launches March 2027 as a Tactical Horror Shooter
The viral Backrooms horror phenomenon is getting a video game spin-off next year. Per ScreenRant, Backrooms: Savior is officially set to release on March 8, 2027.
The game, developed by SuperPaprika, is a first-person tactical horror shooter coming to Steam. It shifts the formula from helpless survival to armed rescue operations, tasking players with finding missing survivors and extracting them from the infamous liminal spaces.
Gameplay will blend shooting, exploration, and survival mechanics with limited ammo. Using a gun will reportedly give away a player's position, and some entities cannot be killed with weapons at all. These enemies instead follow specific rules related to sound, light, and movement, adding a puzzle-like layer to encounters.
The experience is built for team coordination, with support for online cooperative play. The Steam listing also mentions options for solo play and player-versus-player modes. Levels will feature both classic Backrooms aesthetics and new original areas, with resource management and environmental awareness key to maintaining the horror vibe.
ScreenRant notes the game is not marketed as a direct adaptation of Kane Parsons's 2026 A24 film, but as a separate project within the broader Backrooms concept. It is currently available to wishlist on Steam, with no price or console plans announced.
