Beth Behrs joins Kat Dennings for a '2 Broke Girls' reunion on ABC's Shifting Gears
The sitcom duo from 2 Broke Girls is officially getting the band back together. TVLine reports that Beth Behrs will guest star alongside her former co-star Kat Dennings in the season three premiere of ABC's Shifting Gears.
Behrs is set to appear as a physician named Dr. Johnson, who treats Dennings' character Riley for an injured back, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The episode also marks a behind-the-scenes reunion with Michelle Nader, the showrunner of Shifting Gears who previously ran 2 Broke Girls.
The casting fulfills a long-held wish. Per TVLine, Nader had openly stated her desire to get Behrs on the show, but scheduling conflicts with Behrs' role on CBS's The Neighborhood previously prevented it. The outlet notes producers on The Neighborhood had also tried to get Dennings for a guest spot but she was unavailable.
The Hollywood Reporter states the third season of Shifting Gears is slated for an early 2027 premiere. This will be the show's second major sitcom reunion, following a season two episode that brought together Tim Allen's Home Improvement co-stars.
