Bethesda's Fallout Future Revealed with New Games and Rivalry Dismissal
Bethesda just pulled back the curtain on its plans, and Fallout fans have a lot to look forward to. The studio's new roadmap confirms development on The Elder Scrolls 6, the long-awaited Fallout 5, and a brand-new Fallout game from Obsidian Entertainment, per IGN. The slate also includes multiple other Fallout projects and several remaster efforts.
Studio boss Todd Howard is setting expectations for the wait. He recently told GameSpot that the franchise's future is "bigger" than just the long gap for Fallout 5, pointing to the successful TV series. He also directly addressed the internet's favorite feud.
Howard dismissed online "fan chatter" about a supposed rivalry between Bethesda and Obsidian, the developer behind the beloved Fallout: New Vegas. He told Windows Central, via GameSpot, that there is a "huge amount of mutual respect" behind the scenes, calling the conspiracies just talk.
