Black Flag devs axed as remastered pirate hit sails past 2 million copies
Talk about a bad barrel of rum. Just as the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remaster reportedly sold over 2 million copies in a single day, Ubisoft Barcelona is reportedly laying off the developers who made it happen.
According to IGN, those devs have spoken out, saying the company plans to let them go even as their final project becomes a major commercial success. PC Gamer reports one developer's lament: 'The company has turned its back on us.'
They added, 'We will never see the fruits of our labour, and the reward for our hard work will be the loss of our jobs.' It's a sour note for a project that's clearly found its audience, leaving the team to walk the plank.
