Black Flag Resynced studio workers strike after Ubisoft Barcelona announces layoffs
Trouble on the high seas: the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has been followed by union strike action at one of the studios that worked on it. Per VGC and Rock Paper Shotgun, staff at Ubisoft Barcelona are protesting after the company announced plans to lay off 51 employees.
The studio reportedly worked on the underwater sections of the recent remake. According to the union, workers see the layoffs as a move that comes directly after their work on the project is complete, with one source telling Rock Paper Shotgun, 'Ubisoft thinks that's what we deserve.'
Ubisoft Barcelona is reportedly now set to be restructured to focus solely on Rainbow Six projects.
