Blizzard pulls plug on Overwatch's Stadium mode after low player count

Blizzard is putting its Overwatch Stadium mode on life support, announcing no new heroes or maps are coming for the MOBA-inspired format. According to Polygon, the move comes just 15 months after the mode's debut.

Game director Aaron Keller revealed the news in a blog post, as reported by GameSpot. Keller stated that Stadium, in both its ranked and unranked forms, is the game's least-played mode, with player numbers dwindling significantly.

Kotaku calls Stadium 'one of the best things Blizzard has done with the game,' but the developer is halting updates after a reported lack of daily players, per PC Gamer.
