Bradley Cooper Suits Up as Duke for Danny McBride's G.I. Joe Reboot

Bradley Cooper is trading his maestro baton for army fatigues. Per Variety, the actor has signed on to play Conrad "Duke" Hauser, the field leader of the elite team, in Paramount's upcoming G.I. Joe reboot.
The new film will be directed by Danny McBride, who is also co-writing the script alongside Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri, according to reports from both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Plot specifics are being kept secret, but Paramount says it's a fresh take on the Hasbro toy property.
Collider notes that this casting officially replaces a previous plan that would have seen Chris Hemsworth play Duke in a now-scrapped crossover with the Transformers franchise. Paramount has confirmed the projects are no longer linked.
The movie will be McBride's first major studio directing gig for a large-scale action film. He and Cooper previously worked together on an episode of HBO's The Righteous Gemstones.
