Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte dies at 34, cause of death confirmed as suicide

RJ Mitte, the actor known for playing Walter White Jr. on AMC's 'Breaking Bad', has died at age 34. His representative confirmed the news to Variety.
Authorities found Mitte dead at his Brownsville, Texas home on Monday, according to a report by People. His representative later confirmed the cause of death was suicide, per Variety.
Mitte's on-screen father, Bryan Cranston, shared a heartbreaking tribute. "I'm in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on Breaking Bad has died," Cranston wrote. He noted they had been texting about meeting for lunch just weeks prior. "It is especially devastating to hear that he took his own life," Cranston added.
Cranston praised the actor, who was 14 when cast, for meeting the show's demanding schedule with determination and for growing into a fine actor. Mitte, who had cerebral palsy like his character, became a vocal advocate for performers with disabilities.
According to Variety, Mitte was actively promoting his role in the new film 'Talking to Strangers' just before his death. His other credits include 'Switched at Birth' and Netflix's 'The Guardians of Justice'.
