Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reunite for The Mummy 4 after 25 years

Fresh photos from the set show the original stars back in action together. ScreenRant reports the images capture Fraser and Weisz on location, appearing cheerful while filming their iconic characters.

The duo last shared the screen in 2001's 'The Mummy Returns'. Weisz did not appear in the third film, with Maria Bello taking over the role of Evelyn Carnahan for that installment.

This new, currently untitled sequel is being directed by the filmmaking team Radio Silence, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. According to the report, it will serve as a direct follow-up to 'The Mummy Returns', ignoring the events of the third film.

The returning cast reportedly includes John Hannah and Arnold Vosloo, with new additions like Michael Johnston. Universal Pictures has scheduled the film for an October 15, 2027 theatrical release.
