Call of Duty developers promise to fix Captain Price's bad haircut
Infinity Ward and Activision are on a hair rescue mission. According to IGN, the developers have vowed to fix Captain Price's bizarre new look in the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 after pictures of the character's mangled mane spread online.
During last weekend's closed beta, players noticed the iconic Task Force 141 leader looking, frankly, a little rough. Social media was flooded with images showing a version of Price with a choppy, incomplete haircut and a notably less impressive beard than in past games.
The studio clarified the situation on its Trello board and via social media. The issue only appears for players running the game on the absolute lowest graphical settings. A community post stated, "Captain Price's hair does not appear correctly when viewing his character model at the lowest level of detail."
Infinity Ward confirmed the problem is logged and will be corrected in a future game update. They noted it shouldn't be an issue for players meeting the recommended system specs.
This follicular fiasco is just one item on a known issues list that also includes framerate drops, PC hitches, and problems with spawn points and time-to-kill. The open beta for Modern Warfare 4 begins this weekend ahead of the game's scheduled release on October 23, 2026.
