Camila Mendes Returns to Star In and Produce 'Upgraded 2' for Amazon MGM

Camila Mendes is heading back into the air for a sequel. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively confirms that Mendes will reprise her role and serve as a producer for 'Upgraded 2' at Amazon MGM Studios.

Becca Gleason is on board to direct the follow-up to the 2024 romantic comedy, with filming set to begin this month in Italy. Gulfstream Pictures and Mendes's own company, Honor Role, are producing.

While the specific story for the sequel remains under wraps, the writing duties are handled by Luke Roberts and Justin Matthews, the scribes behind the original film. The movie is destined for a worldwide release on Prime Video.

The first 'Upgraded' featured Mendes as Ana, an auction house intern whose life takes a turn after a flight upgrade to first class. The original film also starred Archie Renaux and Marisa Tomei.
