Castlevania hits 40 with a free mobile game and a big sale
Konami is throwing a party for Castlevania's 40th birthday. According to VGC, the original 1986 NES game is free right now on iOS and Android under the name 'Castlevania 40th Anniversary.' But you'll need to grab it fast, as the app will vanish from stores on October 24. If you claim it before then, it's yours to keep.
To further the celebration, Konami has also slashed prices on a bunch of Castlevania titles on PlayStation and Steam. The retro sale is now live.
Fans looking forward to the next installment don't have long to wait. Per VGC, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is slated to launch on October 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
A demo for Belmont's Curse will arrive even sooner, on October 1. The outlet reports that players will be able to transfer their demo progress over to the full game.
