CD Projekt Red hiring for unannounced 'Project Hadar'

CD Projekt Red hiring for unannounced 'Project Hadar'

CD Projekt Red is expanding the team for its mysterious new project, codenamed Hadar.

During an earnings call on Wednesday, the studio's vice president of investor relations, Karolina Gnas, told investors the team is currently over 30 people strong. According to IGN, she said they plan "to hire more, up to 50 developers by the end of this year."

Gnas described the project as being in a very early stage. She said the team is focused on testing ideas and prototyping gameplay elements, confirming that "Hadar is still in the concept phase."

The studio also clarified its current priorities. The long-awaited remake of the original Witcher game is reportedly on hold as the company shifts resources to The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red is targeting a 2028 release for that sequel.

CD Projekt Red has a packed slate. Besides Project Hadar and The Witcher 4, the company is working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, the newly announced Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past, and the eventual Witcher 1 remake.
