Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen to lead new AMC sitcom 'Happy Jack'
The Sheen family is heading to AMC. According to Variety, Charlie Sheen and his father Martin Sheen will star as father and son in a new multi-camera sitcom titled "Happy Jack."
The show has been given a six-episode order and is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles at the start of 2026. It's slated to premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2027. Production will take place at Warner Bros. Studios on the same soundstage that was home to "Friends," with a live studio audience present.
The series will follow Charlie Sheen's character Jack, described as a lifelong ne'er-do-well. Martin Sheen will play his father, who helped raise Jack's two daughters. The story kicks off when one daughter brings home a new boyfriend who is Jack's own age, forcing him to reconsider his priorities.
Dan McDermott, AMC's chief content officer, said in a statement that he was thrilled to bring the Sheens to the network. He noted his past work with Charlie Sheen on "Spin City." Charlie Sheen also released a statement, per Variety, expressing his excitement to return to TV with a project he finds significant.
Jim Patterson and Matt Ross are the writers, executive producers, and co-showrunners. Executive producers also include Charlie Sheen, Todd Christopher, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Jason Wang, and 20th Television. AMC Studios will produce.
