Civilization VII reveals Earthrise expansion and major free update for 2027
Civilization VII players have a major roadmap for 2027. Developer Firaxis Games has outlined its upcoming content plans, as reported by Nintendo Life.
The centerpiece is a free update titled Arc of Tomorrow, slated to launch in 2027. This update will introduce the Atomic Age and extend the game's historical timeline from the 1950s through 2050. Firaxis says it will include new gameplay tailored to the era, revamped nuclear strategy mechanics, fresh buildings and units, and updated visuals.
Following that free update, the first paid expansion, Earthrise, will also launch in 2027. Per the announcement, Earthrise is themed around the historic space race and will feature missions deployed across the solar system.
The studio stated that more details on the Earthrise expansion, including new civilizations, leaders, and gameplay systems, will be shared in the coming months.
