Coen Brothers Tease Reunion and Potential Minneapolis Movie

The legendary filmmaking duo might be getting the band back together. According to Collider, Joel and Ethan Coen have teased the possibility of another joint project for the first time in years.

The brothers recently spoke at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, offering their biggest update in ages. While they noted they haven't settled on a specific plot, they have discussed returning to filmmaking together, partly to reunite with certain crew members.

A key location for any potential new film appears to be their hometown. The Coens mentioned they have considered several stories that would take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is the same city where they famously set and shot their classic film, Fargo.

Ethan Coen, per the report, said they haven't discussed the project in terms of narrative yet. Joel Coen added that they are waiting to see if these Minneapolis-set ideas fully develop to the point of becoming their next definite project.

It has been eight years since the Coens last collaborated on a film, which was the western anthology The Ballad of Buster Scruggs for Netflix.
