Cole Sprouse Thriller 'Vintage Violence' to Close Singapore Film Festival

The Singapore International Film Festival has selected the crime film 'Vintage Violence' as its closing night attraction, per Variety. The festival will end its 37th edition on November 1 with a screening at the Capitol Theatre.
This marks the return of a standalone closing night event, something the festival hasn't done since 2014. The film, directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko, stars Cole Sprouse and Mizuhara Kiko.
According to Variety, the story follows a livestreamer who finds vintage jeans in a mine, sparking a plan to sell them in Tokyo's denim market. The scheme draws in a dangerous underworld figure and an exiled yakuza enforcer with a cybernetic finger that sprays drugs.
Festival executive director Jeremy Chua said the film's modern, chaotic energy and its focus on how tech alters our perception made it the right choice for the closing slot. The director and stars will attend the premiere and a separate conversation event at the National Museum of Singapore on October 31.
The festival opens on October 21 with Hur Jin-ho's 'The Assassin(s)'.
