Coyote vs Acme breaks Ketchup Entertainment record with $14 million debut
The once-cancelled Looney Tunes film 'Coyote vs. Acme' has roared to life at the box office. According to Deadline, the movie is projected for a $14 million domestic debut, landing it in third place behind 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' and 'The Odyssey'.
Per TheWrap, that opening more than quadruples the previous record for its indie distributor, Ketchup Entertainment. Their previous high was the $3.1 million debut of another Looney Tunes title, 'The Day the Earth Blew Up', in 2025.
Warner Bros. infamously shelved the completed film as a tax write-off in 2023. Ketchup Entertainment later acquired it for a reported $50 million. JoBlo notes the movie surprised with a strong $1.7 million in previews, suggesting a healthy opening.
