Craig Zobel Directing Blumhouse Adaptation of 'Something Is Killing the Children'

Blumhouse is moving ahead with its adaptation of the hit horror comic 'Something Is Killing the Children'. According to TheWrap, the studio announced at NYCC's Blumfest that director Craig Zobel is set to helm the film.

Zobel's previous directing credits include the films 'Compliance' and 'The Hunt', along with episodes of series like 'Mare of Easttown' and 'The Penguin'.

Jason Blum will produce the feature for Blumhouse, while comic co-creator James Tynion IV and Stephen Christy will produce on behalf of Boom! Studios. Comic artist and co-creator Werther Dell'Edera will serve as co-producer.

Per the outlet, Blumhouse is developing the property as both a live-action movie and an adult animated television series. Tynion is reportedly shepherding the TV adaptation.

The comic, first published by Boom! Studios in 2019, has sold over 5 million copies globally and been translated into more than 20 languages. Its spinoff series, 'House of Slaughter', launched with over half a million copies of its first issue sold.
