Crimson Desert Switch 2 port is playable, targeting 2027 launch
Pearl Abyss has officially confirmed that the blockbuster open-world game Crimson Desert is heading to Nintendo's next console. According to GameSpot and Eurogamer, a Switch 2 version is now in a playable state and is targeting a release in the first half of 2027.
The developer sees "significant potential" for multiplayer features within the single-player fantasy title, with Eurogamer noting that "live service operation models" have been mentioned. This suggests the hit game, which has sold over 4 million copies on other platforms, could get a long-term online component on Nintendo's new hardware.
Nintendo Life reports that work on the port began earlier this year and is progressing, with the team stating they are "working toward a release." The confirmation comes via Pearl Abyss's latest earnings letter, giving Switch 2 owners a major 2027 title to look forward to.
