D&D Game 'Warlock' Shows First Gameplay, Sets 2027 Release
The next major Dungeons & Dragons video game, 'Warlock,' has debuted its first proper look at gameplay. According to Polygon, the eight-minute trailer was shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live, revealing a 2027 launch window for PC and consoles.
The game follows a warrior named Kaatri, voiced by actress Tricia Helfer. Per the report, she is a battle-hardened fighter who gains access to supernatural powers through a dangerous pact.
Developers at Invoke Studios, which is owned by D&D publisher Wizards of the Coast, are creating a dark fantasy experience where players explore a large, open world from an over-the-shoulder perspective. The studio's creative lead compared the protagonist's 'unclean' magic to characters from 'Penny Dreadful.'
Invoke Studios was formed from Tuque Games, the team behind 'Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance.' The developers stated they are concentrating on a tight story and combat system focused on a single character class for this new project.
The game is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
