David Krumholtz announces indefinite acting hiatus to find 'higher calling'
Actor David Krumholtz is stepping away from Hollywood. According to reports from Variety and TheWrap, he declared on Threads he is putting his career on hold indefinitely.
Krumholtz wrote he sent a definitive email about the move, feeling immediate relief from a "humongous burden." He described himself as "frustrated, fed up, fried" with the industry, per TheWrap.
The actor later clarified he isn't retiring, but "redefining my terms." He told a fan he is "taking a bit of a step back" to see if there's a "higher calling" to pursue.
He specifically cited frustration with "fighting for parts" and what he called "exploitative" opportunities that undervalued his talent, as reported by TheWrap. Many of these initial posts were later deleted.
Krumholtz stated he hopes to find a new passion, mentioning a desire to do motivational speaking for school children. A representative for the actor did not comment to TheWrap.
