Days of Thunder Sequel Revving Up With Director Jonathan Levine
Get ready to hear the roar of engines again. A sequel to the 1990 racing flick Days of Thunder is in the works at Paramount, with Tom Cruise set to return as driver Cole Trickle, per reports from Variety and JoBlo.
Director Jonathan Levine, known for films like 50/50, is reportedly in talks to helm the project. Cruise will also produce alongside original producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
The script is being handled by writer Will Staples. JoBlo's report questions whether Paramount can pull off the same kind of comeback success it achieved with Top Gun: Maverick.
