Dead Space Returns via Battlefield 6 Halloween Event Tease

Electronic Arts is reviving the Dead Space franchise, but not in the way fans might hope. Per Polygon, the revival is a limited-time game mode for Battlefield 6, teased in a new trailer for the shooter's upcoming Season 5.

The trailer shows off new maps like a destructible Las Vegas Strip and Area 51, plus new weapons, vehicles, and a fast-paced battle royale mode. But the final shot reveals the real hook: two soldiers in Isaac Clarke-inspired armor stand before a looming Marker, the sinister alien artifact from Dead Space.

EA is billing this as a sinister Halloween event. According to month-old leaks cited by Polygon, the mode will be a PvE Rush-style experience set in Area 51. Players would reportedly fight waves of 'Marked Soldiers' while attempting to destroy Marker Shrines.

The leaks also mention two RIG suit skins based on Isaac's armor and a trio of weapons inspired by the survival-horror series. This collaboration has close ties, as the Dead Space remake team at Motive Studio was tasked with aiding Battlefield development last year.

Battlefield 6 Season 5 launches on October 13.
