Dhurandhar leads India to record post-pandemic box office first half
India's domestic box office just had its hottest first half since the pandemic. The total haul for the first six months of 2026 hit a massive INR6,398 crore, per a new Ormax Media report cited by Variety.
That figure, which doesn't include money from overseas markets, beats the same period in 2025 by nearly INR650 crore. The action was apparently driven by the blockbuster performance of the local film 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'.
The strong showing signals a powerful recovery for the theatrical market in India, with local productions clearly leading the charge.
