Diablo 4 seasons will keep rolling after Diablo 5 arrives, director says

Blizzard is promising not to pull the plug on Diablo 4 just because Diablo 5 is on the way.

In an interview with Icy Veins reported by VGC, Diablo 4 game director Brent Gibson assured players that seasonal content will continue for the current game long after its sequel launches. He pointed to the ongoing support for Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 as the blueprint.

Gibson pushed back on the idea that Diablo 4 would be put on "life support." He described the Diablo franchise as a universe, not just a series of individual games. He noted the team is even adding the Warlock class to Diablo 2.

"If you’re worried, don’t sweat it," Gibson said, per the outlet. "Because we’re going to be making content for a long time."

He clarified the plan directly, stating seasons will be supported "as long as the community continues to show up for Diablo 4, similar to what we have in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3." Blizzard announced Diablo 5 earlier this month with a Spring 2029 release window.
