Disney cancels its planned live-action Power Rangers series
Another reboot bites the dust. Disney has reportedly scrapped its planned live-action Power Rangers series, per reports from ScreenRant and TheWrap. The project is officially dead after lingering in development.
According to TheWrap, the series had previously attached Percy Jackson and the Olympians showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz. Despite that creative pedigree, Disney+ has decided not to move forward with the project.
Fans hoping for a new take on the morphin' heroes will have to keep waiting. The news marks another swing and a miss for the franchise's attempts at a live-action return to the small screen.
