Disney Plus Developing Kane Chronicles TV Show from Percy Jackson Creator
A new series based on Rick Riordan's Egyptian mythology novels is moving forward at Disney Plus, according to JoBlo. The show would adapt the author's Kane Chronicles trilogy.
The story centers on brother and sister Carter and Sadie Kane, young magicians who are descendants of ancient Egyptian rulers. Per a reported logline, their adventure begins when their father releases a chaotic deity and disappears, forcing the siblings to learn their magical heritage and team up with unexpected allies to save him and prevent a divine war.
Should the project get a green light, Angela Robinson, known for her work on True Blood, would serve as executive producer and co-writer alongside Riordan.
Variety also confirmed the development news. This marks a new attempt to bring the books to screen after a planned film adaptation at Netflix was shelved years ago.
