Disney's Hexed Trailer Unleashes Witches, Whiskers, And A Prophecy

A new trailer for Disney's animated film "Hexed" reveals more of the magical world and its central prophecy. Per /Film, the story follows Billie, a seemingly ordinary girl who discovers she is a witch. Her powers have been suppressed by a gem on her wrist, placed there by her protective mother, Alice, played by Rashida Jones. The girl accidentally opens a portal to the witch realm of Hexe, where the powerful Queen Celeste wants her captured.

According to the trailer, a prophecy foretells that "an ordinary girl would become an extraordinary witch and save the world of magic from evil." Billie appears to be that girl. Her reluctant guide is a green, three-eyed, surly cat named Beef Roger Crummchuk, voiced by Walton Goggins.

ScreenRant reports that the film's creative team recently detailed the central mother-daughter relationship. Writers, directors, and producers explained that the story begins with Billie and Alice clashing due to overprotective parenting. Co-director Fawn Veerasunhorn told ScreenRant the team initially found themselves siding with the mother's point of view too much, requiring work to ensure the audience rooted for the teenage daughter.

Producer Roy Conli described the emotional journey of the film as "heart-wrenching at times, joyous at times, and absolutely hilarious at times." Writer Jared Bush added that the story explores a character's potential and the difficulty of seeing how far one can go, themes he connects to as a parent of teenagers. The film is scheduled for release on November 25, 2026.
