Doom co-founder John Carmack says his faith in Microsoft 'isn't aging well'
John Carmack is sounding off on the Xbox layoffs hitting his old stomping grounds.
The id Software co-founder, legendary for creating Doom and Quake, said a past statement of his that Microsoft would be a "good steward of the brand" is "isn't aging well," per Eurogamer. He was reacting to the reported "bloodbath" of layoffs at id following Xbox's major restructuring.
Carmack didn't mince words, directly linking his changed outlook to the devastating cuts at the studio he helped build.
