Doom director's sunny outlook on studio health faces pushback from staff
Doom director Hugo Martin recently denied reports that developer id Software had been severely impacted by recent Microsoft cuts, but that optimism isn't shared by everyone.
According to Eurogamer, "current and former employees" are disagreeing with Martin's assessment of the situation. The report follows Microsoft's announcement of 3,200 layoffs across its Xbox division two weeks ago.
Initial reports painted a bleak picture for the iconic FPS studio behind Doom and Quake, which Martin pushed back against. The internal friction suggests not all is well at the legendary developer following the corporate shakeup.
