Doom Studio id Software Pushes Back Against 'Gutted' Studio Rumors

Recent reports claimed the legendary developer id Software had been 'nerfed into the ground and gutted' by Xbox's mass layoffs, per Eurogamer.

Doom: The Dark Ages director Hugo Martin has repeatedly pushed back, insisting the team remains strong. He stated on a livestream that the Doom team is present and id's core technology is intact.

The studio itself claims its current team size is comparable to when it shipped 2016's Doom, according to reports by Push Square. Hugo Martin's main point, as covered by PC Gamer, was that 'what matters the most is that the games are good.'
