EA Motive Confirms Iron Man Game Leak, Teases Future Reveal
EA Motive's long-awaited Iron Man game is real, and it got out the hard way. After gameplay footage spread online, the publisher confirmed the leak, per Kotaku, pointing to a new X account that posted: "Well, that didn't go as planned. But now you know, and we've got a lot more to show you."
According to reports from IGN and Eurogamer, the leaked trailer shows extensive, fast-paced flight through cityscapes and battlefields. Tony Stark is seen engaging in combat, using repulsors, missiles, and lasers, and seamlessly transitioning from aerial to ground-based fights.
The work-in-progress footage, watermarked as an "Aug26 test," also features a scene where Stark appears to customize his armor among multiple suits. The clip includes appearances by characters like Pepper Potts and James Rhodes, as well as a visit to a massive airborne command center associated with S.H.I.E.L.D.
The leak ends a long silence on the project, which was announced in 2022. IGN notes that Motive's general manager said last year the game was an "important priority" despite the studio's work on other titles. This leak follows unrelated footage from a cancelled Avalanche Studios Iron Man game that also surfaced days earlier.
No release window was shown in the leaked trailer, with a placeholder label appearing instead. EA's statement suggests a formal reveal is being prepared for a later date.
