Ellen Pompeo to lead Hulu drama Not a Sound from David E Kelley
Ellen Pompeo is swapping her scrubs for a new medical mystery. Per Variety, the actor will topline a Hulu series currently in development called "Not a Sound," produced by David E. Kelley.
The show, reported by TVLine to be based on Heather Gudenkauf's novel, centers on Amelia Winn. Pompeo will play this emergency room nurse whose career is already in ruins when she loses her hearing after being struck by a vehicle.
The plot kicks into gear when Amelia and her service dog find the corpse of a former coworker. This discovery drags her into an investigation that may expose what really happened during the hit-and-run accident, according to a description obtained by the outlets.
Matthew Tinker and Annakate Chappell, known for "Big Sky," are writing the adaptation. They will executive produce alongside Kelley, director Azazel Jacobs, and Pompeo through her Calamity Jane banner. 20th Television is the studio.
